Obituary for Ella Boudreaux Culp from The Natchitoches Times, September 6, 2004:

Ella Boudreaux Culp, 85, a native of New Iberia and longtime resident of Natchitoches died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, September 4, 2004, at Evergreen Hospice Center in Kirkland, Washington, near her home in Redmond, Washington.

Proud of her Cajun heritage, Mrs. Culp loved to share traditions and recipes with family and friends, as well as her students at Natchitoches High School and East Natchitoches Jr. High School.  For the past two years, she organized Mardi Gras festivities for fellow residents at Sterling Park Assisted Living.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Chesley Culp; parents, Gabriel Boudreaux and the late Maria Landry Boudreaux.

She is survived by one daughter, Dr. Cecile Culp Mielenz and son-in-law Michael Paul Mielenz of Woodinville, Washington; two granddaughters, Jennifer Jane Mielenz and Christine Renee Mielenz of Seattle, Washington; three sisters, Hazel Boudreaux Delahoussaye, Mazie Boudreaux Landry and Judy Boudreaux Comeaux, all of New Iberia; two brothers, Nelson Louis Boudreaux of New Iberia and Dr. Paul Wilson Boudreaux of Oklahoma City, OK; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at David Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, Saturday, Septmeber 11, with the Rev. Mark McDonald and the Rev. Mark Derise officiating.  Graveside seervices will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 11, in Memory Lawn Cemetery at Natchitoches.

Visitation will be Friday, September 10 from 5-9 p.m. in Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at Natchitoches and on Saturday, September 11 from 9 a.m. until seervice time in David Funeral Home.
