Minnie Faye was born March 28, 1944 and died April 26, 2012.

Funeral Services for M. Faye McKinney (Minnie Faye Haire/Harvey) will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday the 29th of April 2012 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel in Natchitoches with the Rev. Lonnie Shivers serving as officiate.  Burial will follow in Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.  Friends ar invited to the funeral home on Saturday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. for a  visitation with the family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Velda Haire and her brothers, Carson and Robert Haire.  She was the widow of John C. Harvey, Jr., who actively served in the United States Marine Corps in Korea and who died of a 100% service connected death.

Ms. McKinney graduated with Honors from Northwestern State University and attained Lifetime certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).  She has resided in Shreveport for many years, where she was active in many community organizations including:  NW LA Society for Human Resource Management (Board member for several years), Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Diplomates, "Operation Standown" for the homeless, "National Dialog on Poverty" and was involved in many other organizations and community events.

She is a co-author of a book entitled "Career Search Assistance Guide."  Ms. McKinney has been named one of the "Most Admired Women of the Decade," "Two Thousand Most Notable Women and many other honors by the American Biographical Association.  She also has been profiled in the International Who's Who Registry of Business Leaders" in 1994 and "Who's Who of Shreveport/Bossier" in 1989.

Ms. McKinney is survived by her children, Kelly Haire and Lee McKinney, both of Natchitoches and Jerry McKinney of Texas; her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer McKinney and Cameron McKinney.  She is also survived by her brothers, Jerrold W. Hair of North Carolina, Edgar Haire of Shreveport and Ralph Haire, Jr. of Shreveport; special sisters, Rosa Thiel, Kamen and Robbie Vance; her special friend, Mrs. Madge Smith of Hot Springs Arkansas.  Faye will join many family members who preceded her and her friend, Shirley Kelly, in Heaven.
