Obituary for Robert Lyle Alford, The Natchitoches Times, Thursday, June 24, 2004.

 Service for Robert L. Alford will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 25, in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with the Rev. Antony Alevantheria officiating.  Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery at Spanish Lake.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 24, from 3-10 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m., and another Friday at 8 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.

Mr. Alford, 60, of Allen, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport in Shreveport.

He was a native of Allen and a farmer.

He was preceded in deaath by his parents, Mayfield Alford St., and Tressie Phillips Alford; one sister, Addie Woods; and four brothers, Clyde Tate, Murrell Alford, Edgar Alford and Mayfield "Slick" Alford, Jr.

He is survived by hs wife, Freda Place Alford of Allen; one daughter, Tanya Hernandez and husband Candido of Natchitoches; three sons, Robert P. Alford and wife Gail of Alvin, Texas, Joseph Leon Alford of Natchitoches and David Wayne Alford and wife Staci, of Allen; four sisters, Clara Solice and Doris Pleasant of Spanish Lake, Edith Persons of Harrison, Ark.,  and Juanita Duval of Bossier City; six brothers, Bide Tate of Coushatta, Elvin Alford of Hall Summit, Albert Alford of Robeline, Jerrell Alford of Haughton, Jimmy Alford of Stonewall, William "Bill" Alford of Shreveport and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Alford, Robert P. Alford, Candido Hernandez, Kenneth Walker, Jason Moore, and Daniel Duval.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Weldon, Jeremy Procell, Joseph Alford, Gustavo Leyva and Wayne Place.
